MP for Maradhoo Constituency Ibrahim Shareef says all former MDP President Mohamed Nasheed did in the last four years was team up with the opposition and bring the government to its knees.

He said this in response to comments made by Nasheed who joined the newly formed The Democrats at a rally on Friday where he said that he will do all in his power to divide MDP.

MP Shareef said that in the last four years, all Nasheed did was to divide the party but would lose the post of the Speaker of the Parliament without achieving his goal.

Speaking about The Democrats, Shareef said that after the next parliamentary elections, the party would become a small party just like former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom's MRM.

He added that MPs who have moved to The Democrats will end up losing their seats.

Shareef likened Nasheed's popularity to the rise and fall of a star and said that his political ended when Nasheed lost the MDP Presidential Primary to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
