Vice President of PPM Ahmed Shiyam says President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is playing with the emotions of over 100,000 people with the imprisonment of the former President and opposition Presidential Candidate President Abdullah Yameen.
Speaking at a meeting at the PPM office, the MP for Naifaru Constituency said that more than 100,000 people are enduring each injustice the former President is suffering and that the people are watching the losses being inflicted on Yameen.
Shiyam said that President Solih is not just playing with the emotions of a single individual but with the emotions of more than 100,000 people.
He added that the presidential election is just one and a half months away and that those supporting Yameen won't rest easy.
Noting that the government is “influencing” President Yameen's trial, he said it is being done under the leadership of President's Chief of Staff Ali Zahir and a man named Naseer who works in the Legal Department of the President's Office.
He urged Judges to uphold the legal vows they took before undertaking their responsibilities.
The former President Yameen is currently serving an 11-year jail sentence he was given after he was convicted of money laundering and accepting bribes in the lease of Aaarah by the Criminal Court last year.
