The Victim of the alleged rape that happened at Ritz Carlton Fari Island Resort in Kaafu Atoll sends letters to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Nasheed appealing for justice for the ordeal she suffered.
The Chinese national said in the letter that she had been a victim of a sexual assault on the resort and that she attempted to get support from local agencies but to no avail.
The victim appealed to President Solih to help her get justice for her assault. The victim went on to say that it was disheartening being denied justice after her many attempts to seek help.
She then went on share her case number filed at Maldives Police Services and asked the President to intervene in the case and ensure that justice is served swiftly and appropriately.
Local police have said that a rape was reported on the 11th of this month at a resort in Kaafu Atoll and that they have taken all the relevant samples for the investigation.
But confirmed that no arrests have been made in the case.
