Fuvamulah City Hospital says it is working to transfer the victim of last night's road accident to Male' to further treat her injuries.
It has been reported that the accident reported from Fuvamulah City occurred when a motorcycle carrying two people collided with a cat that was crossing the road and crashed.
The 36-year-old woman riding the cycle was injured in the accident while her 12-year-old child who was sitting behind her was left with minor injuries.
While the woman is being treated at the ICU of the hospital, the Manager at the hospital Mohamed Liraaru said to 'The Press that the patient was now stable and that work is underway to transfer her to IGMH in Male'.
Liraaru said that the woman was brought to the hospital around 09:15 pm and that she sustained injuries to her head and that she was bleeding from her ears.
Traffic accident have grown common in the Maldives over the last few years with such incidents being reported in Male' and the islands.
