Finance Ministry is seeking a supplier for the meningitis vaccine needed for individuals traveling to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj and Umrah from the Maldives this year.
The Ministry said that it was amending the announcement it made on the subject last month.
In the amended announcement, the Finance Ministry said today that this bid would be conducted under the 'Foreign Direct Investment Policy' issued by the Ministry of Economic Trade and Development.
It also said that the bid winner would be chosen via the National Competitive Bidding guidelines and that the criteria and evaluation criteria for those interested in bidding would be included in the bid information document.
While the Hajj season is months away, the government's decision to seek a vaccine supplier comes after difficulties faced by Pilgrims who went to Umrah this Ramadan in getting the meningtis shots required before their travels.
