The Parliament's National Security Committee says it would be summoning the Police and MNDF over the incident where President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's motorcade drove into a group of opposition protesters last night.
The President's Motorcade was seen stuck with protesters around it after the motorcade was caught in the midst of opposition demonstrators near PPM's headquarters on Bodu Thakurufaanu Magu in Male'.
The Parliament's National Security Committee or commonly known as the 241 Committee held an emergency meeting earlier today after the reported incident.
At the meeting today, all the members unanimously agreed that the incident must be investigated as soon as possible and that affirmative action must be taken against those responsible for the breach.
Speaking at the meeting, MP for Guraidhoo Constituency Ghassan Maumoon said that it must be investigated why the Presidential motorcade drove into an area where protests were being held.
Ghassan said that this shows the lack of communication between MNDF and the Police.
Police had arrested 4 individuals in connection to the incident last night.
