Former Deputy Minister at the Islamic Ministry Dr. Aishath Muneeza has been appointed as a professor at the prestigious Malaysian University, International Center for Education in Islamic Finance, INCEIF.
She is the first Maldivian to be appointed as a professor at a Malaysian University.
Dr. Muneeza was appointed to the post last month.
Before she was appointed as a Professor at the only University in the world that offers postgraduate education in Islamic financing, she has been working at INCEIF as an associate professor.
Dr. Muneeza, who also fulfilled the Deputy Ministers post at the Finance Ministry, has a Ph.D. in Law from the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM).
She has also authored around 200 journal articles, and research papers as well as co-written several books mainly on the subject of Islamic Financing.
She has received gold, silver and bronze awards on several occasions for her research papers on the subject.
Back in 2019, Dr. Muneeza was recognized as one of the top 50 most influential women at the Women of Islamic Business and Finance by Cambridge IFA.
