The family of Abdullah Alim from Red Coast, Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhufushi says that it has been two weeks since he has been missing from the Rehabilitation center in Bangalore India, he had been under treatment and that he remains missing.

Speaking to 'The Press', one of his siblings said that Alim was last seen on the 8th of this month and that the center had waited a day to inform his family of his disappearance.

Alim's sibling Azim cited the Rehab to say that Alim had escaped the center on the morning of 8th December while the gate of the center was open and that he had not returned to the center.

Azim further said that right after Blossoms Convalescent Care Trust informed Alim's family about his disappearance, the family had written to the Maldivian Foreign Ministry to seek their help in finding Alim.

Azim said that after the letter was sent, the Foreign Ministry mobilized the Embassy in India to coordinate with Indian police to find Alim and that the Embassy itself is making calls to find the Maldivian man.

Speaking to 'The Press', Communications Strategist at the Foreign Ministry Safaathu Ahmed said that Abdullah Alim's family had informed the Ministry of his disappearance from Blossoms Convalescent Care Trust on the 13th of December.

Safaath said that the Maldivian authorities were working with Indian police and the Police in Bangalore to investigate the missing person case and find Alim.

She added that the Ministry along with the Maldivian High Commission in Delhi and the Honorary Consul in Bangalore are closely following the case.
