Police have sent the body of Nishamaa Mohamed abroad for a postmortem after she was found dead in her home earlier this month.
They said that the body was sent to India for the postmortem and that the body was sent earlier this morning.
In a case of suspected domestic violence, Nishaama's husband Abubakuru Faisal was arrested on the 11th of this month for the alleged murder of his wife.
While the Court had remanded him in custody for 15 days, the suspect was found hanging in his cell on the 12th of this month and was rushed to the hospital after he sustained serious injuries in the attempt to take his own life.
The suspect passed away on the 19th of this month after being treated on the ventilator for his injuries.
Authorities have said that they would investigate how the suspect was able to hang himself in the cell and also reaffirmed that they would continue to seek the truth behind Nishaama's death even if the prime suspect is now dead.
Nishaama and her husband leave behind 3 children.
