Police arrested a local man for making a bomb threat in Hulhumale last night.
Police said to the media that the man was arrested at Beach Club in Hulhumale after a civilian had reported that the man himself had said that he had a bomb in his bag.
They said that officers were dispatched to the scene following the report from the civilian and that the man who made the threat was arrested.
Police clarified that the man was a local man and added that they were further investigating the incident.
The bomb threat comes after security services carried out a counter-terrorism operation earlier this month and arrested 14 suspects.
Police had later said in a news conference that the security forces have foiled a terrorist attack that would have killed many people if it had not been stopped.
