Former President Abdullah Yameen has once again aimed harsh criticism at the current administration, calling out the government for avoiding arguments with the opposition.
He made the remarks at the campaign rally held at Haa Alifu Atoll Vashafaru.
In his speech, Yameen invited government officials to a debate in front of the public to discuss the matters brought in to light by the opposition.
Yameen further said that this administration has been hindering political work and those who are trying to discuss political matters.
He noted that the government had been using the Police to hinder such expressions of thoughts. He added that the opposition would never back away from exposing the government's negligence.
The ex-President said that the government had been misusing perfectly worded laws for their own benefit but the government should give the opportunities for freedom of expression and for others to inform the public of their rights.
He added that then only can the public the right choice when it's time.
He also said that during his tenure, the then-opposition was given the opportunity to talk about anything without hindrance.
