Education Minister Dr. Aishath Ali says teachers must alter their teaching styles in order to further cultivate their students.

The Minister made the remarks in her address to the nation on the occasion of teachers day celebrated today nationwide.

Minister Aishath said that in order to cultivate students who are aware of a world advancing at an alarming rate, teaching styles must be changed to meet their educational needs.

She pointed out that though chalk and board were enough in the past, the students now required technical, technological, and productive teaching.

The Minister touched on the slogan for this teachers' day which is 'transformation of education begins with teacher' and said that this slogan was chosen to value the sacrifices teachers made during the dark days of the COVID-19 pandemic.

She further said that it would also help teachers receive the resources and training required for them to prepare their students for life by developing their talents and qualities.

The Minister said that the teachers are the ones who enforce each change that is brought to the education sector and that they are the ones who are actually steering where the country is headed.

She noted that what students learn from teachers does not only mean the lessons they give but students would take much from the teachers' behavior and conduct towards them and society in general.
