President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has thanked former Presidential Spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook for his service.
Mabrook had announced that he would be stepping down from the post in the President's Office last night. Though he had since not given a reason for his resignation, Mabrook today revealed that it has now been a few months since he informed President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih of his intention and has been planning for this transition with his guidance.
President Solih tweeted today expressing his appreciation of Mabrook and his work at the President's Office. President Solih also thanked Mabrook for his many invaluable contributions during the Covid-19 crisis. The President wished his former Spokesperson success and happiness in this newest chapter of his life.
Mabrook himself had thanked the President for entrusting him with carrying the President's message to the public. Mabrook said that the office has been a place of growth and many invaluable experiences that he will carry with him for the rest of his life.
Mabrook also thanked the media for their support during his time at the President's Office and as the spokesperson of the National Emergency Operations Center NEOC.
He thanked them for all the amazing engagement, and the opportunity to explain the government's stance, even in times of disagreement.
Mabrook, a long-standing supporter of MDP further said that the party and its principles for justice, equality, and democratic values have always been his motivation.
He wished the government success in delivering on its promises of justice and prosperity, and wishing the Maldives better days ahead
