Maldives Transport and Contracting Company MTCC hold a trial run of its minibus service in Male'.
MTCC said that the trial was conducted with the service stakeholders.
It said that the objective was to physically experience the bus routes to improve its customer experience before the service officially commence.
The company thanked the Male' City Council and Maldives Police Service for their assistance and support during the training.
MTCC had brought in 18 buses to kick off its minibus services in the capital Male' to enhance the city's public transport system.
The buses can carry between 18 to 20 passengers and the transport ministry had spent MVR 22.3 million on the project from its budget.
MTCC said that the minibus services would be launched in Male' as soon as roads are prepared for the service. While the city council is currently making these arrangements, neither party had said when the service would begin.
