Police say they are yet to send the body of the murder victim Shiaau Ahmed Saeed abroad to perform an autopsy.
The 22-year-old local woman was brutally murdered on the 6th of this month and her body was found seriously mutilated at an apartment in Male'. Police apprehended a 22-year-old local skater named Ali Shahil from the scene of the crime and remain the sole suspect of the heinous crime.
Police said today that they were making the preparation to send the victim's body abroad to perform an autopsy.
They said that they would announce when and where the victim's body would be sent for an autopsy after her brutal murder in which Shia's killer had decapitated her head and cut off her limbs.
Police had announced that they would be sending the victim's body for an autopsy at the press conference held on the 7th of this month. They had also said that the Police are unable to give more information on the case without an autopsy report.
The suspect is set to remain behind bars till the end of his murder trial. Police had said that Shaahil was intoxicated when he was arrested at the crime scene.
Police had also said that the alleged killer had no prior records and there had been no reports of domestic abuse against him. Police are working to establish the motive and reason behind the senseless and bloody murder.
