Police have discovered a brutally murdered local woman in a house in Male' last night.
It was reported that the dead body was found in a house located in Henveiru ward of the capital city near Cibo Restaurant.
Police said that they had received reports of the brutal murder and discovered the remains of the woman at the house. Police also said that a suspect was arrested at the scene and that the suspect was a local man.
They added that Police were investigating the case and would release further information as they can.
Local media reports have painted a gruesome picture backed up by eyewitness accounts that suggest that the victim's limbs have been cut off.
The media reports also say that the woman was nearly decapitated and had identified the victim as a 22-year-old woman from Fuvahmulah city.
Meanwhile, local media also said that the suspect arrested in relation to the heinous crime was 23-year-old skater Ali Shahil.
