Male City Council has decided to impose a two-hour vehicle ban in Male' on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.
At the Council's 59th general meeting, the Council decided to impose a vehicle ban in Male' on Eid day (Saturday) and the following day.
The Council said that the vehicle ban would be effective in Male' alone and that it would be in place between 04:00 pm to 06:00 pm on both days.
It said that though vehicles would be generally banned during these hours, special permits would be issued to some vehicles to drive during the ban.
The Council said that this was proposed by Galolhu Medhu Constituency member on the City Council Reehan Nazim and that the proposal was passed unanimously by the Council.
The Male' City Council had implemented vehicle bans in Male on previous Eid holidays too.
