Three foreigners have been seriously injured in an industrial accident on the island Noonu Maakurandhoo.

It is believed that the three were wounded after glass sheets have fallen on them.

Speaking to 'The Press' about the accident, Senior Customer Relations Officer of Ungoofaaru Hospital Hassan Fazeel said that three individuals had been brought to the hospital following the industrial accident on Maakurandhoo.

Fazeel said that all three of the victims were currently under treatment at the Emergency Room of the hospital and that the three are currently undergoing further assessments as they had received serious injuries in the accident.

Fazeel also said that the injured may have to be transferred to Male' for further treatment and that the hospital had not made a decision on the matter.

The victims of the industrial accident all belong to a local company named Rest Block and all three are Bangladeshi nationals.

Meanwhile, the migrant worker who suffered major injuries in another industrial accident in Hulhumale on Sunday has succumbed to his death.

This comes after a fellow migrant worker had also died after both the victims were caught under sheets of marble as they tried to unload the heavy items near the dinghy area of Phase II in Hulhumale'.

The injured worker had been rushed to Hulhumale' hospital and later transferred to IGMH in Male'. IGMH had confirmed that the 38-year-old man had died from his injuries sometime yesterday while under treatment in the ICU of the hospital.
