State Trading Organization STO has dispatched the latest batch of ambulances it had brought to the country to several islands.

STO had confirmed that it had handed over 21 ambulances and said that it had sent the emergency vehicles to islands spanning more than 6 Atolls.

It said that the islands include Alifu Alifu Rasdhoo, Alifu Dhaalu Dhigurah, Thaa Vilufushi, Gaafu Alifu Kanduhulhdhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Nadella, Kaafu Guraidhoo, Fuvumulah City, and Addu City.

This is the 4th shipment of emergency vehicles brought in by STO and the shipment arrived on the 19th of last month.

This is part of the agreement signed by STO and the government to provide emergency vehicles to 96 islands across the country that lacks these vehicles.

While the agreement was signed last June, the first shipment of ambulances was handed over to the islands last October and the 2nd shipment was dispatched to the islands in December.

This was the 2nd shipment sent to the islands this year as another batch of ambulances were sent to the islands in February.
