Home Minister Imran Abdullah says the opposition would not be allowed to hold its "IndiaOut" rally in Male' next Friday.

This comes after the opposition gear up for the mega rally it is organizing in Male', the first one since leader and former President Abdullah Yameen was released from prison last year.

Imran made the comments while speaking at the Parliament today after MP for Medhuhenveiru Ali Azim asked the Minister why the government had been unable to put a stop to the anti-India activities.

Minister Imran said that the police are working within the law and regulation to halt such activities and that law enforcement had received information about the planned rally for next Friday.

In comments to the media, the Spokesperson of the joint opposition coalition Heena Waleed said that government officials have not met with the opposition to discuss the matter and added that the rally would be held as scheduled.

The opposition has been organizing regular rallies in the islands to further push its anti-India campaign.
