Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Nasheed is set to travel to the European nation of Malta tonight.
Speaking at the beginning of today's parliament session, the Speaker said that he was traveling to Malta to take part in the "World Forum For Culture and Peace" organized by the Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation. He said he was taking part in the forum upon an invitation from the organizer.
The Speaker went on to say that two of his fellow MPs would be joining him on the trip to Malta.
The two MP have been named as the MP for Galolhu Dhekunu constituency Mikail Naseem and MP for Hulhumale' constituency Ali Niyaz.
The forum is set to kick off tomorrow and would go on for two days.
The Speaker would return to the Maldives next Sunday.
