Maldives National University says it is investigating a bullying incident among some students from its School of Medicine.

The University today issued a statement stating that it had received the bullying complaint last Thursday and that some of its students from the School of Medicine had been bullied.

Though the University had now dwelled further on the incident, it said that bullying goes against the student's code of conduct and that a committee at the university is now probing the complaint.

It added that it would take all the necessary actions once the investigation is concluded.

This comes after one of the victims of the alleged bullying took to social media platform Twitter, to share that she and her friend had been bullied by a fellow student.

The student left a threat of Twitter posts explaining how they have suffered and how her friend had been driven to the point of taking their life because of the harassment.

She alleged that the bully had a previous history of similar incidents and that no action had been taken against the student.
