The Maldives has held talks with SpaceX about 'Starlink', their satellite-based internet services that the company is hoping to expand across the globe.
The meeting was held between the Minister of Environment, Climate Change, and Technology Aminath Shauna and Market Access Director of SpaceX Ryan Goodnight.
The meeting was held online.
In the meeting, the American-based company gave information regarding their 'Starlink' internet services and plans to provide high-speed, low-latency broadband internet across the globe using their advanced satellites.
The Ministry did not share any other information regarding the meeting and its outcomes.
SpaceX's 'Starlink' is now live in 27 countries and according to the company, its international growth is accelerating around the globe.
It had said that the internet service is now up and running in major countries like the US, UK, Germany, France as well as countries like Canada, Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand.
