President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed have today departed for Singapore on an unofficial visit.
The President's Office said that they are scheduled to conclude their visit and return home next Tuesday.
This is the 2nd unofficial trip the couple is taking in a matter of three months.
The First Couple had visited Sri Lanka last December on an unofficial trip and returned to the Maldives on 2nd January 2022.
Since President Solih took over the office, he and his wife had visited abroad for the new year.
It has also been reported that Lanka is home to the First Lady's extended family.
