Ali Saif Latheef, who had gained many followers on social media, has lost his battle to a rare form of cancer and passed away today.

According to his younger brother, Saif who had chronicled his journey against the illness since his diagnosis almost two years back had died in the early hours of today.

Saif's brother expressed his shock at his passing and said that the awe-inspiring Saif had so many friends and followers that it was not humanly possible to let all know individually.

He was diagnosed with the rare form of cancer Botryoid Variant of Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma one and half years back and had been seeking treatment in India.

Saif's candid and all too real tweets about his brave battle against the rare form of cancer only a few had been diagnosed with had touched many lives and many on social media are dedicating posts to him.

Saif's death came mere days after the death of 8-year-old cancer patient Mohamed Areen Abubakar who had shared a hospital room with Saif the last few weeks. Saif had been bringing updates about Areen and his battle against cancer often complimenting the boy for his bravery and resilience.

The 40-year-old leaves behind a wife and three sons who have also featured on his Twitter posts, especially his youngest.

The Press team offers condolences to Saif's family and prays that they find strength in their hour of need. May Saif be granted Jannah.
