Health Protection Agency HPA has confirmed 4 COVID deaths across the country as the infection become rampant in the Maldives yet again.
Out of the four deaths confirmed today, 2 were from the Laamu Atoll COVID management facility. HPA had said earlier today that around 06:04 am, a 79-year-old local man admitted at the facility had succumbed to the pandemic.
HPA later confirmed that an 84-year-old admitted at the Laamu Atoll COVID Management Facility has also passed away due to COVID and that the individual had died around 01:47 pm today.
Meanwhile, earlier today at 06:16 am, a 63-year-old woman under treatment at Hulhumale Medical Facility had also died from COVID-19.
HPA also reported a COVID death from Addu City where the infection is believed to be rampant.
It had said today at 09:00 am, a 76-year-old local man admitted at Addu COVID Management facility had passed away due to the illness.
Today's deaths take the total pandemic death toll to 269. HPA had also said that the total cases include 13 deceased positive whose cause of death is not directly related to COVID-19.
HPA had confirmed a total of 108,732 cases of COVID in the Maldives with more than 5,000 cases coming in the last three days.
