Health Protection Agency HPA says more than 32,500 people in the Maldives have now received the COVID-19 booster dose.
Authorities in the Maldives are administering a dose of the Pfizer vaccine as the booster dose and began administering the booster dose to the general public last Saturday.
In its latest COVID vaccinated update, HPA said that a total of 32,527 people have now received the COVID booster dose in the Maldives.
In a further breakdown HPA said that on Saturday, 2,213 people from the Greater Male' Area received the booster dose while 589 people from the Atolls also received the booster dose.
Earlier, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had said that the best defense against Covid19’s Omicron variant is to boost our vaccine immunity and urged all to get their booster shots.
Meanwhile, HPA revealed that a total of 397,179 people in the Maldives have now received the 1st dose of the COVID vaccine and that out of that 368,751 people have now received the 2nd dose of the vaccine.
HPA had said that there are 9 vaccination centers in the Greater Male' Area and that it had set up 185 vaccination centers in the Atolls.
