A foreigner working at a construction site in Thilafushi has died after taking a fall at the site.
A media official at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital IGMH said that the man was brought in around 09:53 am today and that the foreigner had been dead when he was brought into the hospital.
The media Official at IGMH said that the deceased man was around 38 years of age but did not give information about the nationality of the man who died today.
Sources have said that the man had fallen from a three-story building currently under construction in Thilafushi. But it is still unclear why the man had fallen.
Accidents and falls at construction sites have now become commonplace in the Maldives as most sites are lax about safety measures and rules.
