Health Protection Agency HPA has confirmed more than 91,000 cases of COVID-19 in the Maldives since March 2020.

HPA said on Wednesday that 102 new cases were reported across the country yesterday with 81 new cases confirmed from the inhabited islands.

It also reported 14 new cases from the Greater Male' Area while it confirmed 7 cases from the operational resorts.

HPA said that a total of 91,046 people have now tested positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives since March 2020.

The Agency noted that there are currently 1,914 active cases of the pandemic in the country and that 19 people still remained hospitalized for further treatment after contracting the illness.

HPA said that a total of 88,871 people in the Maldives has now recovered from the illness in the country.

The COVID-19 global pandemic has claimed the lives of 248 people in the Maldives since April last year.

HPA had also said that out of the total cases, there are 13 deceased positive whose cause of death is not directly related to COVID-19.
