Health Protection Agency HPA has confirmed another COVID-19 death in the Maldives.

HPA said today that last night at 02:01 am, a 75-year-old local woman admitted at Hulhumale' Medical Facility HMF had passed away due to COVID-19.

HPA said that this was the 248th COVID-19 death in the Maldives.

This is also the fifth COVID-19 death reported in the country this month. Two out of the five COVID deaths have come from Addu City while the rest were all reported from HMF.

While more than 90,000 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives, HPA had said that 13 out of the total cases include deceased positives whose cause of death is not directly related to COVID-19.

HPA had also said that more than 87,000 had recovered from the illness in the Maldives
