A pregnant woman has been hurt in a traffic accident on the Sinamale' Bridge today.
Police said the report of an accident near the traffic light at the airport junction on the bridge came in around 12:10 pm today and that the accident had occurred because two motorcycles coming in from Male' had collided with each other.
Police also said that an 18-year-old man had been driving one of the motorcycles that had been in the accident and that an 18-year-old woman was riding behind him.
They said that the woman was injured in the accident and that she was treated at IGMH.
Police said that the collision might have occurred because of a blown tire on the motorcycle that the couple was riding.
Speaking to "The Press", IGMH said that an 18-year-old woman was treated at the hospital following a traffic accident and that she was pregnant. The hospital said that the woman was later discharged but stop short of saying what her injuries were.
Meanwhile, Police said that the other involved in the accident had a valid driving license and that Police were further investigating the incident.
