Police say the postmortem of the Filipino Nurse who was found dead recently in Male' has revealed that she is unlikely to have died due to hanging.

The nurse named Mary Grace, who works at IGMH, was found hanging in her apartment in an apparent suicide but unusual circumstances surrounding her death had promoted local authorities to investigate the case as a potential homicide.

Police had sent the body of the deceased nurse to India for postmortem earlier this month and said today that the postmortem result showed that she is unlikely to have died due to hanging.

Police also said that the autopsy result revealed that she had died to blunt injuries.

This refers to injuries caused by forceful impact, falls, or physical attack with a dull object.

It has been reported that Mary allegedly committed suicide after having an argument with her husband, who also works at IGMH, and was also found dead by her husband.

Police had apprehended the husband of the deceased nurse and it was later revealed that he was romantically involved with a local nurse working alongside him in IGMH.

Police had confiscated the lover's phone and searched her house during the course of the investigation.
