Police say two individuals have robbed a taxi driver at knifepoint in the Greater Male' Area.
Police said such an incident was reported on the 23rd of this month.
They said that the two suspects had gotten into the taxi from Majeedhee Magu of Male' and had asked to be taken to Hulhumale'.
Police said that the two then had brandished a knife and robbed the taxi driver at knifepoint.
They said that the suspects took MVR 700 from the taxi driver and had climbed out of the taxi and walked away.
Police said that no individuals had been arrested in relation to this case.
But said that they were investigating the incident as a serious crime.
Theft and robbery have become common place in Maldivian society recently.
