President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has this morning departed on a trip to six islands of Alifu Alifu Atoll.

The President's Office said that President Solih will travel to Thoddoo Island, Rasdhoo Island, Ukhulhas Island, Mathiveri Island, Bodufolhudhoo Island, and Himandhoo Island during this two-day trip.

It said that the President is scheduled to hold discussions with the Island Council and Women's Development Committee of each island.

The President's Office detailed that he is also scheduled to meet important stakeholders from the communities including business owners, farmers, guesthouse proprietors, and the residents of the islands.

It said that as part of this trip, President Solih will visit and tour important landmarks and government developmental sites to check on the progress of the projects.

It said that the President is set to inaugurate the new multi-purpose hall and 12 new classrooms at the Thoddoo School.

At Bodufolhudhoo Island, the President will officially open the new mosque, and at Himandhoo Island, he is scheduled to inaugurate the harbour.

President Solih is accompanied on this trip by a delegation of cabinet ministers and senior officials from the government.
