Health Protection Agency HPA has confirmed the 234th COVID-19 death in the Maldives.
HPA said via Twitter today that at 10:57 am this morning, a 72-year-old local woman admitted at Hulhumale Medical Facility HMF passed away due to the illness.
This is the 3rd COVID-19 death reported in the Maldives so far this month as HPA confirmed another pandemic in the country just yesterday.
The Agency had said that yesterday at 07:50 am, a 97-year-old local man admitted at Addu Covid Management facility had succumbed to the illness.
HPA had reported the death of a 54-year-old local man earlier this month. HPA confirmed that the man had died from COVID-19 while under treatment at HMF.
The three COVID deaths come as the number of daily cases decreased in the country with HPA reporting its lowest daily figures for the Greater Male' Area where the infection was widespread a few months back.
Yesterday, HPA had reported 46 new cases of COVID-19 and had said that only 7 of those came from the Greater Male' Area.
