Maldives National Defense Force MNDF has reported another fire at the state-operated orphanage in Villimale, Kuda kudhinge Hiya.
MNDF said the report of the fire came around 06:03 am earlier this morning and that its firefighters had successfully taken the fire under control at around 06:10 am.
MNDF also said that the fire was caught in a room on the fourth floor of the building and that the firefighters had extinguished the fire around 07:20 am.
It said that no one was injured in the fire but some of the things inside the room were damaged in the blaze.
MNDF added that police were now investigating the incident.
This is the third fire incident reported at the orphanage.
MNDF firefighters were called to two separate incidents at the Kudakudhinge Hiya back in May and June. Like the fire today, both the incident did not injure anyone but damaged property at the orphanage.
