President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has presented the National Award of Honour to 14 individuals at the official ceremony held to mark National Unity Day last night.

Recipients of the National Award of Honour received a shield of honor and a badge of honor.

This year's honorees were selected by the National Awards Committee, established by the President for the task.

From the 14 recipients of the National Award of Honour, 6 had won the National Award of Recognition in previous years.

The 14 honourees who received the National Award of Honour this year;

  1. Mohamed Rasheed, for his contributions to Dhivehi literature and the Dhivehi Language
  2. Abdul Azeez Jamal Abu- Bakr, for his contributions to Dhivehi literature and the Dhivehi Language
  3. Mohamed Waheed (Posthumous), for his contributions to Dhivehi Literature and the Dhivehi Language
  4. Ibrahim Waheed, for his contributions to Dhivehi Literature and the Dhivehi Language
  5. Dr Naila Ibrahim Mohamed Didi, for her contributions to the Health Sector
  6. Adnan Ali, for his contributions to the Fisheries Sector
  7. Ahmed Saleem, for his contributions to the Tourism Sector
  8. Mohamed Waheed, for his contributions to the Agriculture Sector.
  9. Mariam Waheeda, for her contributions to Social work
  10. Moomina Ibrahim, for her contributions in Disseminating News and Information.
  11. Mohamed Saeed, for his contributions in the field of Sports.
  12. Hussain Rasheed Hassan, for his contributions in the field of Sports.
  13. Ahmed Latheef, for his contributions to the field of Sports
  14. Mohamed Maniku, for his contributions to the field of the Visual Arts.

Speaking during the ceremony last night, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih extended his congratulations and warm wishes to all the recipients of this year’s National Awards.
