Police confirm a 4-year-old boy who was reported missing from Alifu Dhaalu Fenfushi has been found dead at sea today.
It said the report of the missing child was made around 3:20 today and that an operation to find the missing child had been mobilized as soon as possible.
Police said the boy was found unresponsive at sea and was rushed to the island’s Health Center.
Citing the Health Center, Police said that the child was declared upon arrival at the center.
Police added that it was further investigating the tragic incident.
Last year, a similar case was reported in Kaafu Maafushi after a 4-year-old from a family holidaying on the island drowned at sea.
The boy had drowned after being left unattended just outside of the guesthouse his family had been staying in.
