Maldives government have given permission for students of Grades 9 to 12 to attend their respective schools from next week onward.
Although the senior grade students have been permitted to attend their schools for studies, students below the grade of 9 will still be continuing their studies through online classes for the next two weeks.
Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) confirms that the permissision have been granted for students studying in Grades 9 to 12 upon request from Ministry of Education. Students wishing to attend schools can attend for their classes physically from the upcoming week.
Meanwhile HEOC had extended the closure on schools in Greater Male' Region with mounting positive cases of Covid-19 in the area.
Schools closed down on March following the first wave of Covid-19 positive cases in the country, but it had not spread to the Greater Male' Region until 15 April 2020.
