Another individual has tested positive for Covid-19 from Addu City Hithadhoo, as reported on Sunday - 16 August 2020.
Meanwhile, Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) have made confirmation of the latest development from the southern most city of Maldives.
Furthermore, HEOC claims the individual had completed their quarantine period prior to testing for the viral disease upon which the results came positive.
With Sunday's new case the total number of positive cases at Addu City has increased to 5 while this marks the fourth case from Hithadhoo with 3 previous cases from the island already reported.
Authorities confirm the first case from the city was discovered on 8 August, who is an officer of Maldives Police Service situated in Feydhoo. The officer was in home-quarantine at the time their test showed positive results for Covid-19.
Following the first case, two more cases were reported from Hithadhoo on 9 August which included a foreigner and a local while the fourth individual from the city was reported with the disease on 11 August.
So far the country has reported a total of 5,679 positive cases inclusive of recoveries and active cases. The latest data from Ministry of Health reveal a total of 3,208 recoveries and 2,449 active cases.
