Health Emergency Operations Center HEOC Spokesperson Dr. Fathimath Nazla Rafeeq has been placed under home quarantine.
In a tweet, Dr. Nazla clarified that she had come in contact with a family relative who has now tested positive for Covid19.
She said that per guidelines I am now in quarantine at home and that she was doing well.
Dr. Nazla added that she would continue to join the scheduled press conferences from home.
Senior Medical Officer at the Health Protection Agency HPA Dr. Nazla was appointed as the spokesperson for the newly formed HEOC on July 4th after the National Emergency Operation Center HEOC was dissolved.
She has been at the forefront of the COVID-19 pandemic since the beginning and has appeared on dozens of news briefings and continues to update the media and the nation on the latest developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.
