Health authorities on Thursday evening revealed discovery of another 128 positive cases of Covid-19, surging the active case total beyond 2,500.
According to Health Protection Agency (HPA) with Thursday's case additions the total number of active cases in Maldives currently stands at 2,553.
HPA further confirms Thursday's batch included 83 Maldivians, 35 Bangladeshis along with 4 Indians, 2 Nepalese and 4 Sri Lankans.
On the other hand, authorities claim 36 cases of recovery with the total number number of recoveries surging to 2,920. As of Thursday a total of 156 remain hospitalized while 1,476 individuals remain in isolation facilities.
The death toll in Maldives in relation to Covid-19 has reached 22 which included 16 locals and 5 Bangladeshi expatriates.
