Authorities on Thursday evening reveal the death of an 83 year old elderly individual who tested positive for Covid-19 posthumously.
According to Health Emergency Operation Center's spokesperson Dr. Nazla Rafeeq, the individual passed away while being treated at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.
Despite the individual's Covid-19 test results coming positive, Dr. Rafeeq states that the death has not been ruled out as a Covid-19 related death yet.
Meanwhile the death count have recently registered a few close-interval deaths related to Covid-19 while the current toll is at 21.
As of Thursday the total number of positive cases in Maldives have reached to 5,494 with 2,553 of them under treatment. So far 2,920 individuals have made recoveries.
