Authorities discovered a deceased man from a Maafannu residence sometime on Wednesday afternoon.
Maldives Police Service reports, the authority was notified of a dead individual discovered from the residence sometime around 13:00hrs on Wednesday afternoon.
Moreover, authorities confirm the deceased individual has been identified as an Indian expatriate.
At the time of discovery, the venue had no other residents apart from the deceased individual pushing authorities to conduct an investigation into the case.
Meanwhile Maldives government had earlier mandated conducting Covid-19 test on every individual death, to ascertain if the virus was present in them.
So far the local law enforcement authority have not disclosed reasons to the individual's demise, noting investigation was still underway.
