Maldives National Defense Force MNDF Coast Guard is searching for the missing crew member of a boat that capsized off the coast of Laamu Gan.
MNDF said the incident was reported at around 3:00 pm and that 10 people were traveling aboard the boat when it capsized.
It also said that the missing crew member is a foreigner and that MNDF divers were now actively searching the area for the crew member.
MNDF also said that two vessels have been deployed to the area with Coast Guard divers in order to widen the search for the missing crew member.
This is the second incident on sea reported today as a motorboat traveling near Kaafu Atoll Kohdiffaru sank with 7 people on board.
MNDF had said that all 7 had reached a sandbank nearby and all traveling aboard the vessel were safe and sound.
