Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) confirms a total of 145 individuals have been advised for violating curfew hour regulations.

According to Dr. Nazla Rafeeq, the spokesperson of HEOC, the individuals were all advised after being found outside post 22:00hrs since the curfew declaration.

Dr. Rafeeq gave the confirmation during Wednesday evening's press conference at HEOC.

Maldives government declared another curfew in Greater Male' Region on Tuesday, 4 August, following a resurgence of Covid-19 positive cases in the region.

Despite a curfew on all transport and pedestrian movement, vehicles and transport of health and security insitutions are exceptions.

On the other hand Chief Super-Intendent of Police Abdulla Shareef confirms exceptions will be made for those with HEOC permit as well as uniformed employees such as security guards or officers of Maldives Customs or any other employment with identified with such uniform code.

Additionally, individuals attending work; mainly on shift duty basis, during curfew hours will be considered exceptions upon producing their office cards or credentials.

Meanwhile businesses along with restaurants and cafes are ordered to close shop after 21:30hrs every evening.
