Maldives Parliament on Monday confirms postponing Tuesday's tabled sitting for the upcoming week.
In a statement released by parliament's administration, it was confirmed Speaker Mohamed Nasheed authoritizing to postpone the second term's 24th sitting for the next week.
However, the statement discloses works handled under parliament committees will proceed without hinderances; adhering to standard procedures.
Moreover, the parliament's administration will remain open for the remainder of the week.
The parliament's statement further asserts limited staff movement at the premises for the next three working days of the week; special priority given to employees with assigned works related to parliament committees.
Meanwhile the parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed advises the remaning employees of the legislative house continue their work remotely from home.
Earlier, it was confirmed three employees of Maldives parliament tested positive for Covid-19 following which the entire premises was disinfected.
