Maldives Parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed has been appointed as the Thematic Ambassador for Climate Vulnerable Forum.
The former president of Maldives was appointed with the approval of Maldives parliament on Thursday, 16 July 2020.

The former president is notable for his commendable efforts in bringing the island nation's climatic vulnerability to international platforms.
Nasheed received notification of his appointment by CVF's current president, Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. A.K Abdul-Momen through an official letter.
The Climate Vulnerable Forum consists of 48 member nations; all with the shared concern of facing challenges and dangers of climatic change.
