Maldives Ministry of Education have warned against illegal or non-permitted usage of school badges for any purpose.

According to the ministry the badges used in local schools are intellectual properties belonging to the institute.

The government body further noted the usage of school badges on material outside of uniforms must be done so with the acquired permission from the ministry.

Moreover, the ministry claimed they have received reports of illegal sale of school badges by individuals or businesses.

The ministry notes that some local businesses were in the practice of selling face masks bearing school badges, without acquiring permission from them.

Meanwhile, schools have announced students cannot wear face masks bearing any logos while attending the educational institutions.

During the press conference held on Monday evening, Minister of Education Aishath Ali urged students, parents and teachers to wear face masks while they remain within school premises.
