Health authorities on Tuesday have reported the first 'silver lining' related to the recoveries, as it exceeds active cases in Maldives.

According to the latest updates from Health Protection Agency (HPA), the total number of recoveries have reached 1,010 cases.

Meanwhile, the authority confirmed 26 positive cases discovered on Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases reported in the country to 1942.

However, this is offset with the bulk recoveries as the total number of active cases drop to 922.

The positive cases reported on Tuesday include 17 locals and 7 Bangladeshis.

Meanwhile, there have been only 8 deaths related to the Covid-19 disease, making Maldives among the countries with the lowest mortality rate related to the viral contagion.

The Greater Male' Region remain under lockdown, although state had earlier announced specific eases on the restrictive measures.

Furthermore, the government expect relaxing more of the measures in the coming weeks while it had also announced border reopening by July.
